Climbing Technique

Pinnacle's climbing workshops are a 1 day session that are designed to give you the skills you need to become a better climber by learning tips and tricks to improve your technique and strength on the wall.

Climbing 101

Are you ready to experience the thrill of climbing for the first time? Join our 4-hour beginner climbing workshop designed to teach you the fundamental techniques of indoor climbing. Climbing Repurposed

Discover how to breathe new life into your old or retired climbing gear in our Climbing Gear Upcycling Workshop! This creative, hands-on class teaches you how to transform worn-out ropes, harnesses, and other gear into functional and stylish items. Led by a climbing enthusiast, you'll learn practical skills to reduce waste while giving your gear a second life. Whether you're passionate about sustainability or just looking for a fun, crafty project, this class is perfect for all skill levels. Bring your old climbing gear and let’s repurpose it together into something unique and useful!

 

The Art of Knots

Hitches, prussiks, bends, it’s fair to say climbers use a lot of knots! In this hands-on Knot-Tying Essentials class, you'll learn the fundamental knots every climber should know to stay safe and secure on the wall. By the end of the session, you’ll be confident in tying the right knot for any climbing situation, improving both your safety and efficiency. Perfect for beginners and intermediate climbers alike.

Falling with Confidence

Join our "Falling with Confidence" workshop, designed to help climbers confront and conquer their fear of falling in a supportive and structured environment. You'll engage with cognitive and somatic mental training techniques that empower you to systematically improve your fear management and build lasting confidence. Additionally, you'll receive comprehensive training on proper belaying techniques to effectively catch a fall, alongside risk assessment strategies tailored to your strengths and experience.Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced climber, this workshop will transform your approach to falling, making it a valuable part of your climbing journey.

 

Trad Skills

Gain hands-on experience in selecting and setting anchors, placing protection to minimize fall distance, and managing hazards while maintaining continuous monitoring of the safeguard system. You'll practice crucial skills such as lead belaying, clipping quickdraws, and cleaning anchors, alongside understanding traditional protection methods using cams, wires, and hexes. With a focus on minimizing damage to equipment and the environment, as well as developing retreat and rescue techniques, this workshop is perfect for climbers looking to elevate their skills and ensure a safe and enjoyable climbing experience.

Anchors

This one day workshop is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to safely locate amd rig reliable anchor systems located at Kangaroo Point, and operate a belay station for single pitch top rope climbing scenarios. This is a great workshop for those that need a refresher on anchors, or for those that are looking to create top rope systems for recreational use that don't require a qualification.

We take training and safety seriously to ensure all of our courses are run with minimal risk and that all of our clients are taught the best way to do things. Having instructors with 20 years of industry experience, we know how to create an engaging learning environment that is paced to your needs. All our guides hold current qualifications and are at minimum accredited with the following training: SISOABS009 - Lead single pitch abseiling activities on natural surfaces, SISOCLM009 - Lead single pitch climbing activities on natural surfaces, top rope climbing, SISORSC002 - Perform vertical rescues.
