Boulderers/Climbers must be willing to take personal responsibility for their own safety and actions and acknowledge the inherent risks involved. Risk management techniques such as correct spotting technique and matting placement should always be adhered to.
Beware of placing mats where they may slip or move, landing on or near the edge of the mat and landing in the gutter of the pad as these can increase the likelihood of injury whilst using this product.
In consideration of Highpoint Adventures (ABN 94 499 379 601) its employees and agents (the Supplier), renting to me the equipment recorded in the supplier’s point of sale system (the Equipment) I agree to the following conditions:
1. I acknowledge receipt of the equipment in good order and condition and accept full responsibility for its care and I agree to pay for any damage to it however caused (including loss or theft) and will pay to replace at full retail value. Any equipment not returned by 6pm on the final day of the rental period (mid week) or 4pm (weekends) will liable for the following and subsequent days rental at daily rates, whichever is the higher amount. I agree that any deposit lodged by me may be forfeited to pay for all or any part of these liabilities;
2. I am familiar with the proper use of the equipment. I understand that staff can answer questions I may have as to the proper use of the equipment but I have not relied on any advice or representation made by them or by the Supplier;
3. I agree to return that equipment in good order and condition and that failure to do so may incur additional costs up to the replacement value of the equipment;
4. I acknowledge that I will not be entitled to any refund or reduction in rental for early return of the equipment;
5. I acknowledge that the Supplier strongly recommends that climbers/boulderers have a spotter when climbing; and I agree to use the equipment in a safe and responsible manner and to comply with the Leave no Trace Ethic and ACAQ’s (Australian Climbing Association Queensland) climbing guidelines
Remember: It is a privilege not a right to boulder in these areas. As a user group we need to lead by example, access is not a given!
