What is belaying?
Climbing is a partner sport - one person climbs whilst the other belays. Belaying is when you are in control of the other end of the rope. All our climbing activities begin with a safety and belay induction.
What is bouldering?
Bouldering is climbing without a rope on typically lower rock formations. The climber is kept safe via a series of pads (boulder mats) that protect your fall, as well as being spotted by other participants. Spotting technique and mat placement is taught as part of our bouldering activity induction.
