COVID-19 Update

LAST UPDATED 6 August 2020

Here at Pinnacle Sports the health and safety of our customers, community, staff and families is our highest priority. With the COVID-19 outbreak, we are taking some precautionary steps to assist with minimising the impact of this pandemic.  Like all members of our community, we are keeping a close eye on how this situation is unfolding and will continue to adapt to circumstances as best as we are able.

Currently our shop at West End remains open for business, but we are asking our customers to please consider staying at home and ordering online if possible, especially if you are experiencing any symptoms. Additionally, if you do visit the shop, please take care to practice social distancing and good hygiene. We are making every effort to keep our store, staff, and patrons clean and healthy by providing hand sanitiser at the front counter, as well as cleaning surfaces and door handles several times throughout the day. We are also restricting the amount of people allowed in the store at any one time. We encourage everyone to practice social distancing and, where possible, place your orders online and take advantage of our free shipping within Australia on orders over $99 (exclusions may apply on bulky items such as boulder pads).

We have now resumed our full range of outdoor activities and courses, with certain adjustments to comply with the current health advice and best practice. Some examples of the precautions we are taking are:

  • Following climbing equipment manufacturer's best practice guidelines with regards to disinfection of equipment
  • Requesting clients/staff do not participate in an activity if they are feeling unwell
  • Adjusting attachment methods to reduce any need for close contact between the guide and participants
  • Encouraging the use of the COVID Safe App
  • Encouraging participants to follow Government hygiene guidelines
  • Reducing group sizes to assist with social distancing
  • Providing guides and participants with hand sanitiser to use on activities
  • On courses, each student will be allocated to a particular "kit" for the duration of the course to reduce the potential for cross-contamination
  • Using dummies to assist with social distancing during practical scenarios on the Vertical Rescue Course

Now more than ever we are being called on to come together as a community. We encourage everyone to slow down, stay calm, look out for each other and pay particular attention to those in our communities who are most vulnerable and offer support where possible.

Wishing everyone health and safety in these challenging times.

Team Pinnacle.
